The College of Staten Island’s SWE Section is devoted to giving its members hands-on experience transferable to STEM fields as well as the opportunity to network and develop beneficial skills for when they enter the engineering field as professionals, after graduation. Chapter members come from a variety of STEM majors including Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science and Astrophysics. The Chapter’s current focus is its Traffic Engineering Project, with a prior focus on a Satellite Design Project.
Some SWE members recently volunteered to give tours of CSI’s laboratories to visiting high school students at the college’s annual Science Day. Additionally, other members presented the group’s new Traffic Engineering Project as well as their own research projects.
